SPARTANBURG, S.C. – When the NCAA Men’s Basketball Bracket was released on Sunday, Wofford was announced as a #14 seed and will play #3 seed BYU on Thursday in Denver, Colorado. The game will be played at 7:00 p.m. ET and be broadcast on CBS.
The Terriers are in the Southeast Region, with Pittsburgh as the #1 seed. Other teams in the pod in Denver with Wofford are #6 seed St. John’s and #11 seed Gonzaga. The winners of the two second round games will meet on Saturday.
Wofford is 21-12 on the season. This season Wofford won the SoCon South Division Championship and the Southern Conference Tournament to earn the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament for the second straight season. It marked the second straight season the Terriers have won 20 or more games.
The team gathered to watch the selection show in Leonard Auditorium with a capacity crowd on hand. On Monday, the team will be honored at a pep rally in Morgan Square in downtown Spartanburg from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
