2010 Cross Country Schedule
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford College men’s and women’s cross country coach Bryan Jackson has announced the schedule for the 2010 season. The slate includes five regular season events and the Southern Conference Championship.
The season will begin on September 4 with the 27th annual Eye Opener event held at Milliken Park and hosted by USC Upstate and the South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind. On September 11, runners will compete at the Erskine Invitational in Due West, S.C.
On September 18, both teams will take part in the Winthrop/Asics Invitational. The meet in Rock Hill, S.C. will also serve as the 2010 South Carolina Intercollegiate Championships.
“The Winthrop Invitational will be an early season test for our teams, particularly our women’s team,” said head coach Jackson. “It will be a great chance for us to see how we stack up with other Southern Conference schools as well as other teams in the state of South Carolina.”
On October 1, Wofford will run in the Charlotte Invitational at UNC Charlotte.
“The Charlotte Invitational will be our last big test before the Southern Conference Championship,” explained Jackson. “It’s always a big meet for both our teams.”
The teams return to Spartanburg on October 16 for the USC Upstate Invite at Milliken Park. Appalachian State University will host the 2010 Southern Conference Championship in Boone, N.C. on October 30.
