SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford men’s golf team competed in the 13th annual Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate, finishing 15th in the three-round tournament hosted by USC Aiken.
Freshman Mark Joye paced the Terriers with a five-over par 215 for the tournament, tying for 12th place individually. Joye recorded a score of 72 in the first and third round, and shot a one-over par 71 in the second round.
Sophomore Ben Wright tied for 39th, shooting a 223, including a low round of 73 in the third round. Senior Mike McKenzie carded a 232 over three rounds, tying for 66th, while sophomore Zach Capps finished close behind with a score of 233.
The Terriers concluded the tournament with a team score of 903 (297-307-299) to finish 15th. Wofford finished ahead of Southern Conference foe College of Charleston.
The men’s golf team will compete next at the Furman Invitational, held March 19-21 at the Furman University Golf Course in Greenville, S.C.
