FAN FEST: Autographs, Flea Market and an early look at the Terriers up-close this Saturday
Make your plans now to get an early look at the Wofford football, soccer and volleyball teams at the 2011 Terrier Fan Fest to be held Saturday, August 20 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm.
The first hour of the event there will be an autograph session featuring players from the football, men’s soccer, women’s soccer and volleyball teams at the Harley Room inside the Richardson Building. Shortly after 5:00 pm, fans will get a chance to see the Wofford men’s soccer team go through a workout in preparation for their season. At approximately 6:00 pm, the Wofford football team will go through a practice inside Gibbs Stadium as well.
In addition, fans will have the unique opportunity to purchase game worn football jerseys and hundreds of other items at the Terrier Flea Market which will be held throughout the event inside the Harley Room. Game worn Wofford football jerseys will be on-sale with some jerseys available for as low as $30. Ben Wofford Books will also be set-up at Fan Fest as well.
Plus, there will be interactive games for the kids set up outside the Richardson Building as well. The event is free, open to the public, and will take place rain or shine.

One of the best ways to show your support for Wofford football is by purchasing season tickets and now all fans who order a season ticket by this Saturday will receive a “Thank You Ticket” as well. These Thank You Tickets are a token of appreciation to our fans for renewing their season tickets early this year. To be eligible, you must purchase your season ticket before or during the Terrier Fan Fest on Saturday, August 20.
For every season ticket purchased, a Thank You Ticket will be included in the season ticket package that will be mailed out in the coming weeks. A listing of these free “Thank You” items are noted below and they will be distributed to season ticket holders at random.

Plus, a few lucky fans will receive an additional 2 tickets to a Wofford home game of their choice, 2 tickets to the game at Clemson or a game worn Wofford football jersey.
TERRIER TALES: Reading Program Kickoff Party set for Tuesday, August 23 at downtown library
The Wofford College athletic department and Spartanburg County Public Libraries have teamed up for the 6th straight year to bring children around Spartanburg a special incentive-based reading program - "Terrier Tales."
There will be a special “Kickoff Party” on Tuesday, August 23 from 7:00 to 8:00pm at the children’s area of the downtown library in Spartanburg. Members of the Wofford football team will be on-hand to sign autographs and interact with kids as well. There will be light refreshments and plenty of opportunities for families to check out books and begin their child on the journey to gaining a free ticket to the Terrier Tales “Reading Celebration Game” on Saturday, October 15.

TOP MOMENT IN WOFFORD FOOTBALL HISTORY
The submissions are in and this Saturday, August 20 at the Terrier Fan Fest, fans will be able to see the moments sent in by the fans that our committee of Wofford football experts and historians have selected to be part of the online voting that will take place the 20th – 26th.
Fans will be able to vote from this selected group for what they feel is the “Top Moment” in Terrier football history. The Top 5 moments in the voting will be featured in special video packages to be shown on the TerrierVision videoboard – one per home game - with the top moment as voted on by the fans being revealed at the Georgia Southern game November 12.
Fans can submit their top moment and vote in three ways:

WOMEN’S SOCCER: 2011 home opener this Friday!
While school will not start on the Wofford campus until September 5, the Wofford women’s soccer team kicks off the 2011-12 athletic calendar with the first home match of the year this Friday night at Snyder Field. The Terriers will open the nine match home schedule with six of those nine coming in the first eight matches of the season through September 25.
Youth soccer coaches are encouraged to call Charlie Coon at 597-4023 or CoonCE@wofford.edu to schedule your team’s night with the Terriers this season. Youth teams this year will be introduced prior to the match and be part of the Terriers pre-game introductions as well. The team will also serve as the ballkids for the match and have the chance to get autographed posters after the match as well.
