Disher and Strack Added to Wofford Baseball Coaching Staff

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford College has announced that Phil Disher and Jeremy Strack will be joining the baseball coaching staff this fall as assistant coaches. Both will work with head coach Todd Interdonato and assistant coach Dusty Blake this season.
The second assistant will be Phil Disher, a 2008 graduate from South Carolina. He will work with primarily the catchers and hitters during the season as well as assisting with recruiting. He recently finished playing professionally with the Houston Astros organization where he was forced to retire due to an injury.
He was a graduate of South Aiken High School where he was first team All-State both his junior and senior seasons. During his four year career at South Carolina he was named All-SEC during his junior and senior seasons while being named to the Division I All-American team for the 2007 season. While his teams made several post season appearances, he was named to two All-Regional teams as well as two All-SEC tournament teams while being named the MVP of the 2007 Virginia Regional. He was drafted following the 2007 season and then drafted again in 2008 in the 15th round where he signed with Houston. During his first year of pro ball he was named the MVP of the New York-Penn league.
The volunteer assistant will be Jeremy Strack, a 2008 graduate of William Jewell College in Mississippi. He will work with the outfielders and coach first base, as well as assist with the hitters.
Strack was selected as a first team All-State player during his junior and senior seasons Gardner Edgerton High School in Kansas. He played two years at Fort Scott Community College where he was named First Team All-Conference his sophomore year. He moved on to play at William Jewell College where he was named All-Conference, All-Region and All-American during his senior season. In the 2008 season, Strack led the NAIA nationally in stolen bases with 62. He was named the William Jewell Male Athlete of the year in 2008. He played one season of Independent baseball with the Evansville Otters of the Frontier League.
Greg Sullivan, who had been named an assistant coach earlier this summer, has accepted a position on the Boston College baseball coaching staff.
