SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford College women’s golfers Meredith Few and Anne Marie Covar fired a final round six-under par 66 to win the Carolinas Women’s Four-Ball Championship by an impressive nine strokes. The 33rd Annual Championship was held on August 17 and 18 at the Callawassie Island Club in Okatie, S.C.

A senior from Aiken, S.C., Few lead the assault by carding five birdies on holes #2, #4, #7, #13 and #16. Covar, an incoming freshman from Edgefield, S.C., was steady all day making numerous pars and adding a birdie of her own on #17.

Teams were pre-flighted within their division. The championship division played the championship tees and competed for the overall title. The tournament division played a shorter course.

This championship is conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association which is in its 101st year of serving amateur golf in the Carolinas.
